NYC MAYOR BLOOMBERG DISCOVERS O’HARA’S IRISH STOUT ON ST. PATRICK’S DAY 2010

NEW YORK…April 12, 2010 – Irish jigs and O'Hara Stout swigs, New York City Mayor Bloomberg celebrates St. Patrick's Day in true Gaelic style at Adrian Flannelly's 40th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Special Broadcast at Irish Radio USA on Madison Avenue. At the O'Hara's sponsored event, Emer Kelly, O'Hara's U.S. ambassador, presented Mayor Bloomberg with a hurley, which will be proudly displayed in his office. Hurling is an outdoor team sport of ancient Gaelic origin, with the object of the game being for players to use a wooden stick called a hurley to hit a small ball called a sliotar between the opponents' goalposts. Over the crossbar awards the team one point, and under the crossbar into a guarded net awards the team three points.

O'Hara's Irish Stout was the exclusive stout and red beer sponsor of the festive event, which featured notable guests including Speaker Christine Quinn, Grand Marshal of NYC St. Patrick's Day Parade, Police Commissioner Ray Kelly, Congressman Peter King, Irish Minister Barry Andrews, Musician Jack L, and many others. Pictured here with his new O'Hara's hurley is NYC Mayor Bloomberg and Emer Kelly.
